About Us

Welcome to Poplars Surgery website. Poplars Surgery is a large practice in Erdington, consisting of doctors, nurses, healthcare assistants and non-clinical administration staff. We are supported by a wider network, known as the primary care team, including health visitors, midwives, district nurses and macmillan nurses.

Here at Poplars Surgery, we pride ourselves on providing outstanding patient care and treating all of our patients as individuals. Our website contains a range of information to help you in making your own choices about your healthcare, as well as providing information about our services. Should you require any further information, please contact us.

New Patients

Poplars Surgery is currently taking on new patients that live within our boundary area. A map of our boundary area is available to view on our Practice Boundary page. If you would like to register with Poplars Surgery, please complete our online New Patient Registration form. If you would like assistance completing these forms please ask reception. These forms can also be completed at the surgery.

Poplars surgery normally accepts patients under Health Service arrangements within most of the Erdington area and parts of Boldmere and Wylde Green. If in doubt, please ask one of the receptionists. When registering with the practice you may wish to express a preference of GP whom you would like to see.

Please inform the receptionist and the name of the GP will be added to your records. Please bear in mind that it is not always possible to see the GP of your choice on the day of your choice.

The full medical records of new patients often take some time to arrive. The practice believes it is important for all new patients to have a ‘new patient screening’ with our practice nurse. This takes around 15 minutes and includes medical and family history, blood pressure check, urine examination and lifestyle screening.

Car Parking (At Owner’s Risk)

There is limited space available on the car park at the front of the surgery for patients. The practice cannot accept responsibility for loss of or damage to vehicles. The spaces designated for Doctors should not be used as there are times when the doctors need to leave the surgery urgently and any obstructions can result in valuable time being wasted.

The gates at the side of the surgery should not be blocked as they provide access to the garages of private premises at the rear of the surgery. You are also requested to park considerately on Holly Lane and not obstruct the drive-ways of local residents.
